Personal Profile
Over the past decade, attorney Jay Morris Gabriel has become one of the most effective, knowledgeable, and compassionate advocates serving students with disabilities and their families. He has successfully represented hundreds of California families in special education due process cases. Morris has also helped families pursue claims involving students who have suffered harm, abuse, or discrimination related to their disabilities.
Morris understands the stress and uncertainty many parents face when considering legal action against their child’s school. He is honored to guide families in protecting their children’s right to a safe, individualized, and meaningful education. While vigorously advocating for his clients, Morris’s calm demeanor and collaborative negotiation style help preserve positive relationships between families and school districts.
Morris previously taught Education Law at the Golden Gate University School of Law and frequently speaks on special education law and litigation in continuing education programs for attorneys and educators. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and earned a Juris Doctor, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Southern California.
